Ask me Anything...

Hello, my loves.

I realize that I've been neglecting my Shake Something emails and I apologize. There's only one me and, on most days, I'm lucky if I get through all of my school emails.

I was pleasantly surprised when I did take a look at my inbox. I received over 1,100 emails between the months of February and March. Appreciated. You guys have a lot of questions and requests and over the coming months I will definitely oblige. I've decided to address some of your questions in this post:

Q: It seems like your taste in men changes everyday. What is your type?
(via David from Houston,TX)

A: Are you asking b/c you want to be my type, David? Haha. Nah, but seriously... Physically, my taste in men is definitely all over the place. I've dated tall, short, light, dark, slim, husky... Lol. EVERYTHING. But the two commonalities between the men that I find myself drawn to is always intellect and humor. Use a big word or make me laugh and, well, you may have a fair chance. For a more elaborate answer, see BLOG 17: I'm Just a Girl.

Q: I loved your blog about embracing your natural hair. Are you still natural and, if so, any advice to a newly natural gal?
(via Brianna from Wilmington, DE)

A: Yes, I am still natural. That blog post, BLOG 13: Butt Booty Naked., probably got the biggest response of anything I've written. I am still a newbie to the natural game myself, so I really don't have any advice. I deep condition regularly and don't use any heavy greases or oils. Hope that helps. :-)

Q: You talk a lot about relationships. Why not about SEX?
(via Rachelle from Elmont, NY)

A: I love this question. But the answer is simple. This blog is my open diary, about my life. Sex is not currently a part of my life. Lol.

Q: Why is your blog called "shake something"?
(via Mekka from Uniondale, NY)

A: It's a veeeery long story. But basically, it's a metaphor for life. I can either decide to wallow in the crappy things that happen or shake it off, shake things up, SHAKE SOMETHING! Haha...

Q: Life is not all roses. Why do you end all of your posts with some type of upbeat lah-dee-dah bullsh*t? Why can't you be more real?
(via Steph from Bethlehem, PA)

A: I'm glad you gave me permission to post your question, Steph. You're right. Life is not all roses. As a matter of fact, as I get older, life circumstances tend to get more and more offensive to my sensibilities. Lol. It may seem like I end all of my posts with sunshine and skittles, but it's a decision that I've made about how I live my life. I'm glad you picked up on it. For every 1 bad situation in my life there are 250 great reasons for me to smile. That's why I end my posts the way I do. Life sucks, but I intend to dwell in the good moments as much as I can. And, well, that's real.
